Cowl Call Party
Saturday January 14th 1 - 4
Cowls have been very popular this year. We want to see yours.
Wear a cowl or sit and make a cowl. Maybe it is time to make one for yourself!
We will have loads of free patterns and all bulky yarns are 10% off.
This is a great time to see the class samples and sign up for a class or two.
To stick with our "Cowl Call" theme we will be grazing for refreshments.

Baby Surprise Jacket This intermediate class will use Elizabeth Zimmermann's classic pattern to make this baby sweater. The surprise is that the interesting flat shape folds into a baby sweater. Class meets Saturdays
10:30 - 12 March 3rd, 10th and 17th. Cost is $35 plus materials. Instructor Julie Shank.
Beginning Knitting Do you have a friend that wants to learn to knit but you don't want to teach them? Get Julie to do it! This class is for the true beginner. We will learn to cast on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch and casting off. The class meets Sat. 10:30-12 Jan. 21st, Jan 28th, and Feb 4th. Cost is $35 plus materials. Instructor Julie Shank
Granny Squares In this beginning level crochet class we will learn to make a granny square, tie off, and change colors. Then we will learn to join the squares together to make a colorful scarf. Class meets Wed. evenings from 5:30 - 7:00 Feb 1st and Feb 15th. Cost is $25 plus materials. Instructor Sarah Farmer.
Essential Cardigan This is a modern, no frills wardrobe basic sweater. In this 7 week class we will cover all of the basic techniques of a pieced sweater: Gauge, fit, buttonholes, seaming, picking up stitches, and blocking. Other interesting techniques include an i-cord edging , short row shoulder shaping and three needle bind off. The pattern is sized for extra small to extra large. Classes are spread out to accommodate knitting time. Class meets
1-2:30 Sat Jan 21st, 28th, Feb 4th, 25th, March 3rd and 17th. Cost is $55 plus materials. Instructor Vicki Hair
Sensational Socks Intermediate level. Must be comfortable with casting on and the knit and purl stitch. In this 6 week class we will make a small "class" sock to learn the basic techniques of heel flaps, turning the heel, gussets and the kitchner stitch. Then using the Sensational Sock book you will select a sock pattern and design a custom sock for yourself. Class meets 3 - 4:30 Sat. Feb 11th, 18th, 25th, March 3rd, 10th and 17th. Cost is $45 plus materials. Instructor Vicki Hair
Slouchy Beanie (Beginning Knitting II) This class is a great follow up to Beginning Knitting. We will learn to follow a pattern, work with circular and double point needles as well as to make decreases. Class meets 10:30-12 Sat Feb 11th, 18th, and 25th. Cost is $35 plus materials. Instructor Julie Shank.
Swirls Hat Intermediate level. In this fun project we will learn the fair isle technique, how to follow a chart, the Braid Pattern Stitch and decreasing in pattern. Class meets twice for two hours from 10-12 Sat March 24th and 31st. Cost is $30 plus materials. Instructor Vicki Hair.
Texting Mitts In this class we will learn to follow a pattern, use double point needles, and the "make 1" increase. We will also learn a few tricks to making a thumb easily. Class meets 3 - 4:30 Sat. Jan 21st, 28th and Feb 4th. Cost is $35 plus materials. Instructor Julie Shank
Top Down Swing Pullover A comfortable, flattering, flared pullover with a scoop neck and ¾ sleeves. Sizes
x-small through xx-large. This is the easiest sweater I have ever knit. On size 9 needles this is a quick knit. We will learn the techniques of seamless top down sweater construction including fit and finishing. This is one sweater you will finish and love wearing! Classes are spread out to accommodate knitting time. Class meets 1 - 2:30 Saturdays Feb 11th, 18th, March 10th and 24th. Cost is $42 plus materials. Instructor Vicki Hair
